WHEN TO MAINTAIN A SYNTHETIC GRASS COURT
The first step in keeping synthetic grass courts operating at their best is sweeping them weekly and removing any rubbish. The sweeping prevents sand buildup on top which can prevent proper drainage and encourage the growth of moss. Additionally, it improves the appearance of the courts.
In addition to sweeping moss growth should be prevented by applying weed/moss killer once a year. Moss and algae begin to damage the court as soon as they begin to take hold meaning that preventative measures are better for longevity. However, if moss/algae to being to take hold deal with them as quickly as possible as the damage to the court surface will spread with it.
HOW TO MAINTAIN A SYNTHETIC GRASS COURT
Approximately every 6 years (5-7 depending on wear and maintenance) your synthetic grass courts will require rejuvenation and redressing. As the court is used gradually the infill of rubber and silica will become compacted and contaminated. Rejuvenation is the process by which these compacted materials are removed. Redressing involves replacing the spent materials with new rubber and silica to return the court to optimal operation.
