WHEN TO MAINTAIN A POROUS MACADAM COURT
If your courts are slippery they are likely already in need of maintenance. For this court type that maintenance comes in the form of cleaning out the pores of the court surface with a pressure washer. As a general rule, if your court is in an area where it has full direct sun and is not shaded it will likely only need to be pressure washed once every 12-18 months. However, if there is shade, especially tree cover your court will likely need to be cleaned more often. This is because mold from shade and falling leaves, or especially bird droppings can cause serious damage to the surface.
HOW TO MAINTAIN A POROUS MACADAM COURT
The key to good court maintenance is regularly power washing the court. It leads to increased surface grip as well as improvement in court drainage. Our power washing machinery uses a rotary jet system, this creates a spinning torrent of water beginning around 15mm above the court penetrating down into the surface. The water from the jet extracts any mud algae or debris that may have built up within the pores. Once it’s been extracted the debris is lanced off the top of the court with a single high powered jet returning the surface to optimal functionality.
